Description

This little ceramic cup is a true gem—small in scale but rich in character and color 🌸✨

Handcrafted in stoneware, it features a softly faceted form that feels organic and grounding in the hand. The glaze is the star: a luminous blend of blush pink, lavender, and hints of sky blue, flowing and breaking naturally over the surface like a watercolor caught mid-motion. Where the glaze thins near the base, it reveals a warm, speckled clay body, creating a beautiful contrast that highlights the piece’s handmade nature.

The rim is gentle, inviting touch and adding to its sculptural appeal. Perfect for espresso, sake, wine, or even as a small tumbler or tea cup, this piece is as versatile as it is beautiful. This cup is entirely unique, making it a special addition to any collection or a thoughtful gift for someone who appreciates functional art.

It’s the kind of piece that elevates a simple pour into a small, intentional moment.

Artist Statement

My work is driven by an insistent need to make — to explore, experiment, and stay in conversation with materials. I work across multiple mediums, clay, glass, paint, fiber. I let the process guide the outcome rather than forcing a fixed result. What’s made is often taken apart, reshaped, or returned to the beginning.

I draw inspiration from the natural world and from the quiet details of everyday life — the mundane, the overlooked, the in-between. I’m interested in cycles: forming, breaking down, and becoming something new.

I approach my practice with openness and curiosity, allowing room for wonder, failure, and transformation. What comes before is carried forward. The work evolves through repetition, pressure, attention, and time.

At its core, my work is about staying present — paying attention, working honestly, and honoring change as part of the process. - Sueann Smith
