Description

This sculptural ceramic tuber vase is a beautifully organic piece that feels as though it was shaped by nature itself 🌱

Composed of seven bud-like vessels clustered together on a shared base, it’s perfect for displaying individual stems, dried botanicals, or small wildflowers. The soft, earthy clay body is speckled with natural texture, while the darker interior glaze creates a striking contrast that draws the eye into each opening.

The subtly irregular rims and gently flared forms celebrate the handmade process, giving the vase a warm, tactile presence. A deeper, kiln-kissed tone pools around the base, grounding the piece and enhancing its earthy elegance.

Whether styled as a functional flower holder or displayed on its own as a sculptural accent, this tuber vase brings a quiet, natural beauty to any space. Ideal for lovers of minimalist décor, wabi-sabi aesthetics, and handcrafted ceramics with soul.

Artist Statement

My work is driven by an insistent need to make — to explore, experiment, and stay in conversation with materials. I work across multiple mediums, clay, glass, paint, fiber. I let the process guide the outcome rather than forcing a fixed result. What’s made is often taken apart, reshaped, or returned to the beginning.

I draw inspiration from the natural world and from the quiet details of everyday life — the mundane, the overlooked, the in-between. I’m interested in cycles: forming, breaking down, and becoming something new.

I approach my practice with openness and curiosity, allowing room for wonder, failure, and transformation. What comes before is carried forward. The work evolves through repetition, pressure, attention, and time.

At its core, my work is about staying present — paying attention, working honestly, and honoring change as part of the process. - Sueann Smith
